Fact Sheet

Design pressure: 495 bar

Test pressure: 742 bar

Design class: PD 5500 (British Standard)

For the fabrication of the 4 PIG Launch and Receiver units, Panterra made use of our robotic welding cell improving not only the continuity and quality of the welds across the 4 units but also the efficiency of repetitive welding procedures. Achieving PD 5500 with ABS Class follow-up and design approval.

PD 5500 is the UK's national pressure vessels code, ensuring the safety and efficiency of unfired pressure vessel design, manufacture, inspection and testing.

A key feature, PD 5500 allows for design by analysis. Where the vessel's geometry and major dimensions are specified, and the required thickness is calculated using closed-form equations or graphical data.
